Janice Elrod – Practice Administrator
If you see Janice busting a move and belting out a rap song, you might be quite startled. Her love for rap, rock and Lady Gaga is just another facet to Janice’s rich and impressive background. After 17 years at Oncology clinics in Colorado, Janice made the move to Omaha. She’d been in Denver since she was five, spending her formative years as a “cowgirl” showing horses every weekend, and participating in 4H. She credits her success to both of her parents who have always stood by her. What Janice values most about her work at Oncology Associates is watching the courage and strength patients show every day. And being part of a team dedicated to making cancer patients’ experiences as positive as possible.

Laura Dawson, Billing Specialist
This Illinois native knew early on that she wanted to find a profession where she could help others and make a difference. She chose the medical field, working as a billing specialist and never left. With over 30 years of experience, she’s seen quite a few change in health insurance, but she does her best to stay on top of all the updates. In fact, one of the things Laura likes most about working in medical billing is that she likens it to solving a big puzzle. She loves sorting out all the pieces, getting them in the right place and then helping her patients bring it all together. You could say that Laura is quite devoted to helping patients navigate their insurance claims. She once helped a patient get a year’s worth of claims paid! “She sent me flowers, made a cake and brought it to my office,” says Laura. “I cried, she cried, and I was so happy to help her.” Now that’s devotion. Something you might not know? Laura loves the outdoors and is a veteran, who spent seven years on active duty in the army.
